Our Lady of the Rock

Pilgrims by the bus and car loads flock to the middle of the desert in California City, on the 13th of every month, to see a vision of the Virgin Mary.  Those looking to be healed, for salvation, or to satisfy their curiosity have been coming to this place for over two and a half decades.  National Geographic and the American Festivals Project have written about these gatherings.

Directions: Starting at the traffic light on the east end of California City Blvd, go north on 20 Mule Team Road 9.7 miles.  Turn left onto Lincoln Blvd and go .7 miles, then right on Eilleen.  You will see the shrine on your left.
